Blisters, socks and shoes

Starting with shoes. Some below that could suit most runners. If you go to a running shop for a gate analyst, they will probably say you over pronate along with most of the population, you need a support shoe or maybe a neural dependant what them stoke level is. I rotate about 14 types of shoes of all types and heal to toe drop. Works for me and too much emphasis on type of shoe rather than type of running. Get something that feels comfortable is the bottom line. Don’t spend hundreds in early days and I rarely spend over £60.00 now. Buy last years model is a cost saver.

I buy most of my shoes from this Facebook site, many buy on line, find the fit bad and simply sale on this site. Be careful of scammers, pay via PayPal goods and services. I’ve bought and sold dozens of items and have always received goods and money.

Insoles, most insoles that come as standard are quite poor quality. I always bin them and use a after market insole. Lots out there but this can also be affected by running style.

Currex insoles.

Blisters. Can be many causes so just listing a few. Poorly fitting shoe or poorly laced up shoe.

How to lace up shoes

Too much foot movement, see above and also tie a heal lock. I always lace this way

https://www.locklaces.com/blogs/resources/how-to-tie-a-heel-lock

Don’t over tighten as you foot will swell over a run, sometimes take the time to stop and retie if needed.

Another cause of blisters is sock choice. Never got a blister using 1000-mile socks

If you have blisters, first thing keep clean. Dependant on what you want to do maybe just some cream.

Compeed plasters work really well in protecting and just leave on for up to three days

If you have a blister and you need to run with it, either compeed or if more extreme.

Clean foot, spray on and allow to dry Benzoin Tincture Oil 125ml. This make area sterile and makes tapes stick really well.

Stick on compeed plaster or a dressing

In extreme cases, I’ve had to hold my foot together and bits of body, its basically duct tape for skin, serve many problems including taping up broken shoes and keeping an abdomen hernia from popping out.
